Lighthouse Point is going through it's final inspections for occupancy permits, anticipated this August, 2009. Owners will be able to occupy the Condos this September 2009.

The solid wood interiors are taking shape, Condo #6 is shown to the left in a rich golden oak finish. The walls are complimented by custom ceiling cutouts surrounded by concealed LED rope lights that create a pleasant glow for evening mood lighting.

It’s a symbol of independence. Oct 2008 - The walls for condo #1, Divetech's dive shop and the Bistro are all up, all footers and 20" columns are complete. Lighthouse Point building is moving along at a steady pace, with up to 40 trade people on the job site daily.

May 2008 - Lighthouse Point breaks ground! with the storm water management system completed and the ground infrastructure, driveway, sidewalks, cistern, sewage treatment plant all being worked on in preparation for the foundation and building. Electrical power and city water are now feeding the property. Apr 2008 - Construction of the dock is beginning - about a month and the dock will be complete for additional access to Lighthouse Point for divers, snorklers and boats. Apr 2008 - Negotiations have started on a high quality restaurateur to operate the on-site restaurant at Lighthouse Point.
Mar 2008 - Central Planning Approval is granted to proceed with the development of Lighthouse Point. The individual plans for mechanical, electrical, structural, landscaping and the like are being reviewed now, with the goal of receiving our 'red tag' so that building will commence! Mar 2008 - Condo #7 is sold! Mar 2008 - Lighthouse Point offers Fractional Ownership, with legal council looking after the Company Incorporation, Registration and share structure to offer fractional owners the safety and security of ownership. Feb 2008 - Divetech pursues initiative with the National Museum for signage and protection of the Historic Marine Archeological site #GC033 to preserve the artifacts located just off Lighthouse Point . Signage is being created to let divers and snorklers know that this is an Historic reserve, protected and that all artifacts should be left untouched for future visitors to enjoy. Jan 2008 - Lighthouse Point has a street address, approved by the Street Committee. 571 North West Point Road, West Bay, Grand Cayman Jan 2008 - Condo #4 is sold! Jan 2008 - Rental companies that administer and market short and long term rental properties are looking at Lighthouse Point for future rental opportunities for owners that are not in Cayman year round. Jan 2008 - Financing for the entire project is approved by First Caribbean International Bank (Cayman) Ltd.

Nov 2007 - The Government issued Coastal Works License is approved to construct the 40 foot dock at Lighthouse Point. Due to potential, occasional winter storms (Nor Wester's) in the winter, dock construction will be started in May 2008 to mitigate any potential environmental damage.
Nov 2007 - Divetech opens the newest shore diving location in Grand Cayman at Lighthouse Point. The reef is pristine with an abundance of marine life, sponges and corals. The wall is filled with cuts and swim through's with dramatic huge barrel sponges scattered along the edge of the wall.
Sept 2007 - We discover that this dive/snorkel dive site is designated at an archeological site GC #033, with artifacts dating back to the early to mid 1800's. This research was conducted by Peggy Leshikar-Denton, a renown marine archeologist in Grand Cayman. Aug 2007 - The Cayman Islands Port Authority grants permission for Divetech to relocate it's dive down markers to the new dive site at Lighthouse Point and this work was completed. July 2007 - Condo #9 is sold! July 2007 - Divetech purchases the Dive shop at Lighthouse Point to open a new shore and June 2007: Jay and Nancy Easterbrook purchase the property at Block 1E Parcel 15 WB to create the new home of Lighthouse Point and Divetech's shore diving site. |
